Brainrot and “vocal stims” have taken the internet by storm, influencing online culture and modern dialect. One clip on the internet now has the potential to be used in conversions across the nation, creating a shared language. To better understand the structure of this shared language a two question google form was sent out to students attending Cretin-Derham Hall, with a list of common brain rot and free response questions.
The First question asked what the respondents favorite brain rot/vocal stim is. Out of 20 pieces of brain rot, “prolly not” won with 22.9% of votes. One of these voters was Lila Fulton, and when asked why she picked “prolly not”, she responded with “It’s like the better way to say no”.
Then the second question on the form was what is your least favorite piece of brain rot. Out of the 20, 67 lost with 28.6% of votes. It also proved the most divisive as it tied for second for most popular. Lila also put 67 down as her least favorite, and her comment on it was that “38 is better”, and would not elaborate further. After researching I found that 38 is one of the numbers that people are trying to replace 67 with. So next time you want to say 67, reflect and ponder on whether you should say prolly not instead.
