Spring Break is a time where students and their families are given the time to rest, relax, and regroup from the drowsiness of winter. Many families choose to go out of town, each with their own purposes in mind. Some go to places in hopes to settle down and take their mind off of the stresses of their regular life, while others take it as an opportunity to adventure to someplace new. For some, it’s a time to visit colleges or plan for their future.
Meghan Muckala, a current junior at CDH says, “For this past Spring Break, my family and I traveled to Southern California. Part of why we visited was so that I could look at colleges, since I hope to move there in the future”. Meghan’s reasoning shows that for many families, Spring Break is the perfect time for their students to use their time off to look at colleges or think about where they would like to end up in the future.
Alternatively, sophomore Audrey Seymore says, “This year, my family and I took a trip to Iceland and Denmark for Spring Break. While we were there, we were very active. We hiked, visited various hot springs, and learned all about the culture of the two countries”. Her words illustrate how some families choose to travel to new places for Spring Break in hopes to explore, and immerse themselves in new cultures.
