CDH’s Robotics team has successfully finished off their 2026 season, despite a few ups and downs. Prior to this season, robotics had many seniors, but this year they were without any. With a
smaller crew of people, leadership was crucial. Everyone had to step up. This wasn’t a problem for them, as they were all able to work together and persevere despite the lack of upperclassmen eyes.
“We had a change in leadership and we had to figure most of our stuff out on our own,” says Emma Mike ‘27.
Even though they had a significantly smaller group, they started off on a roll. After their kickoff they started planning the elements for their robot. For weeks they designed, worked, and tweaked their robot. They then headed for Grand Forks, North Dakota. They didn’t place at this competition, but they surely had fun amongst one another.
“…on our 5 hour bus ride to Grand Forks, I would see that people are talking and hanging out and not just trapping themselves in their phones,” emphasizes Emma Mike ‘27.
Their last two meets went fantastic at the University of Minnesota. They were able to place high enough to be a back up robot, in place of any teams who may have had any malfunctions.
After a season of hard work and perseverance, the CDH Robotics team is ultimately proud of their season. They have now put up their gear and are enthusiastic about next season.
