The beginning of the 2025-26 school year has welcomed returning teachers and students, but also introduced new teachers and students. One of those new teachers is Mr. Jack Moody, an English teacher in the 9th grade values classes.
Having lived in Minnesota his whole life, Mr. Moody was raised in Apple Valley and attended Eastview high school. Throughout high school he was an active participant of theater and National Honors Society. From high school he moved to Northfield, MN, and spent his college years at St. Olaf. Initially, he was interested in law, however after a semester he realized that law school wasn’t the right fit for him. Through taking some new classes and trying new things, Mr. Moody double majored in English and education, and discovered the path truly fit for him.
Now, after a few years of teaching middle school at Chaska Middle School and Central in Eden Prairie, Mr. Moody finds himself a part of the CDH community. He stated, “I grew up with a lot of emphasis on academics and faith through my church, because I went to public school, and I like the idea of having both of them at the same time.” He also likes the change from a larger public school to a smaller private school, because it is so much easier to get to know everyone and establish bonds and friendships. When asked what his favorite aspect of CDH is, he replied with one word, “community”. He has really been loving the warm and friendly atmosphere, and how our student body is faith oriented and academically focused.
Currently, Mr. Moody is working on writing his thesis at Mankato State University, and in his free time he enjoys cooking, watching football, golfing, and he even sings in his church choir. For the rest of the year, Mr. Moody’s hope is to, “keep going and get to know even more people”. The 2025-26 school year is flying by, and the addition of amazing new teachers like Mr. Moody has only made it feel faster. He has only just begun his journey here at CDH, so let us continue to welcome him as he finds his groove here with our community.
