Christopher Kaus is a beloved CDH Science & Engineering and Physics teacher. Growing up in a family of 7, Mr. Kaus spent his youth in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended the Jesuit high school of Brophy College Prep. He loved sports, especially baseball and football. After high school, Mr. Kaus spent one year at a community college, but then switched to Arizona State University to complete his degree in engineering. He spent another 4 years working as a mechanical engineer, where he met his wife. However, they both decided to enter the world of teaching, so he went back to school and started his teaching career in Richfield Minnesota, where he taught for 18 years.
Ten years ago, Mr. Kaus began his journey here at CDH. When asked what his favorite part about teaching is, he responded, “working with people who like to be challenged”. He enjoys being around students, especially those who are driven and enjoy a challenge. In his free time, Mr. Kaus takes pleasure in sailing, golfing, cross country skiing, and, one of his favorites, pickleball. The CDH community is so privileged to know and have Mr. Kaus as a teacher, and we hope that he enjoys his time here as much as his students enjoy having him as their teacher.
