Leaves have turned red and yellow and fallen.  The light of apple, cinnamon, or pumpkin candles flickers, making fall sweet and warm. Obviously, we are turning into a fall vibe, but along with the temperature, our fashion also changes. From tank tops to leggings, more layers are added as we move closer to winter.    

While walking in the CDH hallway, the first thing you might notice are the black birkenstock clogs that are worn by many girls at school. In addition to the Birks, the most common footwear seen are black crocs, Ugg slippers, and Nike sneakers. As the temperatures fall, comfort gets top billing with footwear at CDH.  Each pair has a comfortable shape and inner material that not only takes the bite out of Minnesota’s winter but makes school feel more like home. It’s also interesting to see the various types of shoes chosen to follow the simple “Mostly Black Shoes Rule”, and each can represent students’ unique personalities.

In addition, student backpacks tend to follow the black trend. The most common backpack seen around school is black The North Face backpack. It has a large capacity for student iPads, heavy textbooks, lunch boxes, gym’s clothes, water bottles and so on. The wide shoulder straps help release a bit of the heavy weight of the loaded backpack on students, and the color perfectly matches the classic black and white school uniforms. Moreover, student backpacks have become more varied with brands such as Fjällrâven, Nike, Converse, Adidas, and so on, and now Lululemon backpacks  are becoming more popular. 

On our special out of uniform days, essential hoodies, UGG boots and slippers, Lululemon leggings and tops, Aritzia hoodies and coats are walking around our schools. It’s the perfect opportunity for students to wear comfy clothes in their own personalized style.  

Every Friday, Raiders get a chance to wear CDH joint sweaters or hoodies. Even though almost every hoodie hanging up in the store is worn by at least one student, the type of hoodies with hats and extra large size are most favored by students. From Monday through Thursday, students need to wear formal uniforms, so Fridays provide more freedom in student clothing.  During this time, an oversized hoodie and coat will be the best choice to have a comfortable life for their end of week celebration. On Friday, when you walk in the hallways, black, gray, and purple are mixed together with every student’s smiling face to show the great Raider Spirit!
