From Powderpuff and the Friday Football Game, to outside yard games and popsicles, Homecoming week had it all. This fall Cretin-Derham Hall had its homecoming with the theme,“Home is where the Raiders are”. Every year the CDH Student Council plans and perfects what students love most during the fall, the themes and fun activities for Homecoming week. This year there was comfy day on Monday, jersey day Tuesday, we-wear-pink Wednesday, twin day Thursday, and finally, Raider Pride Friday. This year a majority of the student body was involved in all themes. Students said their favorite theme was either comfy day or twin day. Not only did all the dress up themes get students excited for the week, so did all the activities. The Junior v.Senior Boys Volleyball game on the Monday after school ended with a win for the Juniors in two sets. However, the Junior girls were not as lucky with a loss to the seniors in the powderpuff game on Friday. In other non sports related news, Letters of Love was on that week’s Tuesday, and students from classes 9-12 came to the meeting to write cards for childhood cancer awareness. At the end of the homecoming week on Friday, CDH had our pep fest with lip sync battles, the captain dance, and the club/sport preview. Junior Gg Thomas said she “loved the pep fest.” As well as Junior, Ellen Kovats said, “The pep fest was my favorite part.” The student body was standing up and cheering at all times, unless asked to sit down. All around, homecoming week was seen as a success by students and faculty alike.
